Dr Dee Blackie
Dee Blackie is a strategic business and brand consultant with extensive experience on Pan-African and Global projects. She holds a Bachelors of Journalism from Rhodes University, an MA and PhD in Anthropology from the University of the Witwatersrand (WITS). Dee has a background in publishing, advertising, market/consumer insight, and business/brand strategy. She has also worked extensively in social development, facilitating the formation of a National Adoption Coalition for South Africa in 2011 and in the development of Courage Child Protection & Empowerment, a global child protection community engagement programme, which she launched in 2015 in her role as a child protection activist.
Dee has consulted to numerous South African and Global brands, initially with the Global Added Value Group (starting their Johannesburg office in 1999), as Strategy Director (Africa/Middle East) for Enterprise IG, and in the boutique marketing and brand consultancy, Xfacta, which she launched in 2006.
Dee started the Business of Brands Institute (BOBI) in 2007, to serve business, and society at large, through the discipline of branding.
